There was still marked enthusiasm and an optimism that we would "right the ship." And we were working on cool new products and sales opportunities. The culture was still exciting, but there were significant growing pains, with Pandora consistently missing its quarterly earnings targets and operating in the red. Fast forward a couple years to 2013, and Pandora had its IPO on the NYSE, and was focusing on fleshing out its advertising sales options. New teams and branches of the organization were spawning quarterly. The culture was teeming with excitement, and an all-hands-on-deck approach. Back then, Pandora was still very much on the rise, thanks in large part to the explosion of the iPhone (still only 3 years old at the time, and not nearly as gorged with applications in the AppStore as it is now). I joined Pandora as a Sales intern back in 2010. Lack of action and responsibility towards unproductive and free-willing team members that create a negative working environmentĪdvice to senior leadership and management: Concerns about the future of the company post-SiriusXM acquisition, which have yet to be addressed Different teams (specifically some closer to SiriusXM) held to different standards of performance, process, and communication Continual rescopes for individuals, often causing confusion and attrition Conflicting cultures between SiriusXM and Pandora High turnover, especially among senior team members and leaders Generally positive and inclusive culture Good work/life balance, including remote working Smart, hardworking, talented people (for the most part)
